I have a shirt with that phrase on it and it couldn’t be more appropriate for what has transpired in my world in the last week.

But let’s back up and talk a little bit about said bullshit, yes?

I LOVE, I mean LOVE, when my friends do well and succeed. It’s a win for me when they do because I like and care about them AND selfishly, I want to surround myself with people who do well.

But that’s not so with all people.

Recently, it’s come to my attention that some of my hard earned gains are not seen that same way but perhaps, as threats or competition.

Well, that hurts me.

My mother , yes Mama Sandra, always taught her kids to care and be happy for others’ successes and I grew up thinking that’s the way everyone acted.

Not so.

Perhaps, I’m naive in thinking that way BUT I like that my mind set is pretty positive ( ok, there was that one time when someone got the good parking spot from me.)

Like I said, this hurt me and it weighed heavy on my mind for a few days. After just getting it off my chest with my wife and one of my best friends, I let it go. Like poof, no more energy spent on it. And more importantly, I went back to focusing on the good things, th and goals I want to achieve and the life I’m creating.

AND, guess what?

I’ve been more productive this week than ever, I received a couple really good messages regarding things I’ve been working on, my business is starting to take off from both and engagement and exposure standpoint AND I go an offer from a really cool startup that “I can’t refuse!”

Once I let go of those negative feelings and redirected to the positive, my week exploded!

Yes, I am one of those people who believe in energy and the power of attraction. BUT, I’m also one of those people who likes proof.

This week I got it BIG TIME!

Listen, be open, do NOT wallow in the negative- it just doesn’t serve you at all. Think about what you want to appear in your life and then take action over and over and over again.

This is what I call SMALL MAGIC and the formula is:
(awareness + action) x habit

Do it. Take just one thing and use this formula and you’ll get it. I’m proof.

So, go out and transcend the bullshit and be magical!

hello, my name is murphy…

do you ever have one of those days where you probably should have just stayed in bed? welcome to my day…

now listen, i’m not really a whiner but how much can one take when one is already in a bad mood OR because i’m in a bad mood, did i bring the negative energy on? whatever…i’m still murphy either way. it’s days like this that make me want to stay in bed and pull the covers up and wake up next month (which incidentally is tomorrow)….things i learned about being murphy are don’t say or do certain things to someone having that type of day

here are the certain things:

is it that time of the month?
did you take your happy pills?
calm down (that’s a big one).
have you spoken to your counselor lately (this one obviously only applies in the event that you have a counselor).
laugh out loud when lost keys get spiked into the garage floor.

saying even just one of these things will not get you in the good graces of murphy and will most likely put you on their shit list which is growing geometrically every hour.

some suggestions of things to say or do to murphy instead:

you are not clumsy (fat, stupid, ugly…insert appropriate adjective here).
you’re adorable (works every time on me).
i know,honey…you’re right.
agree, agree, agree (even if you don’t agree).
do not move quickly toward murphy (he/ she may lash out).

with that being said, there are still several hours left in the day so i’ll share more if and when something happens. for the time being, leave this post knowing that you are armed with the tools to keep you safe and in the clear should you happen to interact with a murphy.

wtf! now we have witches running for office, candidates against illegal immigration hiring illegal immigrants (and then not hiring them), cyber bullies doing the unthinkable: showing a kid having sex on the internet, tea party candidates giving morality lessons (thank you, jim demint) and obama pretty much taking the blame for everything…i think we all need a scoop of bluebell ice cream for a down home country day and chill…

so…let’s all step back a minute.

big deal that someone dabbled in witchcraft 20 years ago. does that make her a witch? do we really know? did clinton inhale? what i find funny about the whole thing is that miss O’D thinks she has to address this via campaign ad.

meg whitman hired and then fired an illegal alien to clean her house…funny that part of the story was omitted explaining that the illegal had false documentation and there was really no way whitman could’ve known. when does the media start taking responsibility for skewing the news?

have people just lost their minds when it comes to the internet? is everything fair game because you can? could anybody in their right mind really think it was ok to stream video on the internet of a kid having sex? how about think before you post next time, jack asses?

and thank God for jim demint or i wouldn’t know that i’m immoral. last time i checked i only had one God and he is most definitely not jim demint nor would he judge me in any way. but good luck with that…

last, i’m not overjoyed with the job obama is doing but could anyone else be doing a better job? yes, he has certainly misdirected his efforts but seriously, this country is broken and it isn’t going to be fixed overnight or in a year…cut the partisan bull crap and let’s work together ( she said naively)…

I freakin’ LOVE school- the retraction

ok…so last week i was all high and mighty about how much i LOVE school! well, the class i was talking about is fine BUT in the middle of my otherwise calm, relaxing weekend, i find out that i only got 55% on my posts from the other class…

now, i don’t freakin’ love school so much…

this all illustrates that professors do things totally different and even though there is supposed to be some sort of

consistency from one class to another…there is not. why are you so ticked lisa? because i am a ridiculous perfectionist

who can’t bear to think that i have a crappy grade in one class for even a week’s time.

there! i said it! yes, i am ridiculous…BUT i think that kind of ridiculousness (word?) is good because it keeps me on the edge and makes me do the best i can do even if i think the instructor may just have been a little too picky for his own

standards…do as i say, students…not as i do…right, prof?

i am SO tired of people bellyaching about everything under the sun. you (and you know who you are) are energy vampires who suck the life blood out of me everytime i have to listen to your b.s.! the so-called non partisan crew we have in power right now is number one on the list and i’m not talking about obama…i’m talking about the whole carzy group up in d.c. leaders? no way…more like babies playing bad together in the sandbox. if one more person says the economy is improving, please ask them where ‘cuz it isn’t in these parts. let’s stop the bleeding and start doing business with and supporting our community businesses. we’re afraid because those jackasses in washington have us afraid. they want us there…in a state of fear so we can’t see that they really don’t know what they’re doing unless it has to do directly with their own personal agendas and “what’s in it for me”…enough rant…later

argument tip #3

yet another tip from my series on arguments…

this one i experienced this past weekend…never get up from a heated discussion and start slamming inanimate objects around. it merely serves as fuel for the fire and does nothing but make your situation 100 times hotter than it was 5 seconds ago. now, if you’re the type that likes it a little spicy, by all means, slam at your hearts content! AND to turn it up even a few notches more respond to the question “do you have to slam things around every time you get mad?” with “i’m not slamming now…this is slamming!” and then break something as a punctuation. i have found that this has a 100% success rate for not speaking to each other for the rest of the night and then sleeping on the couch.

remember…amateurs, this is a master technique and should not be practiced with out a full blown black belt in observation.

uncle! or God

ok…so today has been one of those days for me….business this week has been nearly nonexistent, my wife and roommate got into an argument this morning which is no fun for the rest of the house, i had a board meeting that lasted 8 hours and felt like a battle AND my laptop crashed yet again!

what do i do…one of two things…i either cry uncle and just give up OR i have a talk with God. I’m kinda thinking God wishes i would cry uncle. the conversation goes something like this AND keep in mind that this is usually happening in my car and i am speaking out loud…

me: ok God…what exactly is your point here?

God: no answer

me: because if you’re testing me i really think i’m good here thanks…

God: no answer

me: i’m really getting frustrated with you and want to suggest that we come to some sort of a resolution

God: no answer

radio: come to 2001 space odyssey where we have the coldest beer and the hottest ladies dancing for your pleasure…

me: God, what did you mean by that?

and so it goes….

tip #2

i have found sarcasm to be invaluable in an argumentative setting particularly when the goal is to drive your co-arguer into a blind rage…one so explosive as to have a blood vessel burst. for you novices out there, i do not recommend this as a beginning move. i would however start with a simple comment about their mother or the fact that you never liked their cat/ dog/ brother (feel free to improvise here with the appropriate insult of choice) in the first place…if presented properly this should at worst get you a “what did you say?!” for those in the intermediate or master level you could actually respond with some such retort like “why would you care what i said now since you never listen to a word i say anyway?” if well placed this should result in you sleeping on the couch/ in car/ at uncle harry’s house. well done and bravo to you!
